CIGFARO together with National Treasury will be hosting a mSCOA Fundamental Training aimed at non-government and government officials who prefer facilitated training.
• The learner will be required to write an assessment at the end of the course.
• A certificate of completion will be issued by CIGFARO upon successful completion of the course.
The training will take place in the following provinces:
- 26 - 30 August 2024 in Bloemfontein
- 26 - 30 August 2024 in Durban
- 26 - 30 August 2024 In Rustenburg
- 09- 13 September 2024 in Cape Town
- 09- 13 September 2024 in Polokwane
Delegates may register for either Module 1 and 2, or Module 3, or all three Modules.
Module 1 & 2:
Module1:
Addresses the fundamentals of mSCOA. You will leave with an improved understanding of the Local Government Budget and Financial Management Reform Agenda; the mSCOA legislative framework; the requirements to comply with mSCOA and how this can benefit your institution. You will also learn about the oversight role of the Project Steering Committee, Municipal Councillors and National Treasuries. The module concludes with practical information about navigating the mSCOA chart and its segments.
Module2:
Deals with Reporting requirements and period control in the mSCOA environment. We also provide practical steps to help you access and use the GoMuni portal.
Module 3:
Covers the budgeting process and principles of transacting in mSCOA. You can also deepen your understanding of the Local Government Accountability Cycle with a focus on integrated planning in terms of mSCOA segments, the Medium-Term Revenue and Expenditure Framework, Budget, and Project File layout.
